    Alexis André

    Alexis André is an artist, researcher and designer aiming at redefining entertainment. In this golden age of computation and data overflow, why is our entertainment still designed to be consumed in a passive way? A few media are offering interactive experiences, but none of them are designed specifically for you. Alexis is working towards a future where you could enjoy unique experiences that were tailored to your preferences, where the power of generative systems is leveraged to offer individually custom-created pieces. As a first implementation of this concept, he created the robot toy platform “toio” that gathered various design awards (iF Design, reddot, Good Design…). His generative art pieces have been showcased all around the world (Tokyo, Art Basel Miami, COP26 in Glasgow…) and in auction at Sotheby’s and Christie’s.

    A-Mashiro is a Tokyo-based artist and collector.<br /> <br /> He began his creative career in the late 90's and started working digitally in 2021 after meeting NFT.<br /> <br /> His works, which are reminiscent of constructivism, combining circles, straight lines, and squares, and incorporating Japanese patterns, spattering, and other techniques, are favored by many artists and collectors around the world.<br /> <br /> He joined the vetted platform "Super Rare" in 2022. He has gained a larger following and has participated in exhibitions in Tokyo, Seattle, New York, Miami, and other cities.<br /> In 2023, he was selected as an official artist for Bright Moments Tokyo, Gateway Miami, and others. Other activities include collaborations with overseas artists and exhibitions to introduce overseas artists to Japan. He is also a collector himself, using a portion of the proceeds from the sale of his own work to acquire a wide range of works by both established and emerging artists.<br /> <br /> With his experience in creating oil and acrylic paintings, his creative activities that do not separate physical and digital media, and borderless activities that transcend national borders are attracting attention.

    ISHIKAWA Tatsuya<br /> Born in 1991 in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture.<br /> Graduated from the School of Informatics, University of Tsukuba in 2014.<br /> Completed Master's degree in Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2016.<br /> New technologies are discovered one after another, irrespective of human will. And, this trend will continue as long as humans possess curiosity. Technology itself has no will, but when it is linked with power, we tend to lose freedom rather than gaining it. To become free from the domination of technology, it is necessary to first understand its mechanisms. With a punk spirit and insight into technology, I engage in creating works that expose the underside of socially implemented technologies and systems.

    Kazuhiro Aihara

    Kazuhiro Aihara is a Japanese digital artist based in Tokyo.<br /> He began studying graphic design on his own around 2005, and in 2010 began his full-fledged career as a graphic artist in fields such as advertising design, fashion, and interior design. Since around 2014, his works have been at the International Poster Triennial Toyama (Japan), the Moscow International Graphic Design Biennale (Russia), the Brno International Graphic Design Biennale (Czech Republic), the Trnava Poster Triennial (Slovakia), and the Lahti International Poster Biennale (Finland). He has been invited to international exhibitions such as the Ecuador Poster Biennale (Ecuador), and his major works are permanently stored in the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art & Design (Japan) and the National Moravian Gallery (Czech Republic).<br /> <br /> Since around 2018, he has shifted his base of art activities overseas and has collaborated with many up-and-coming young visual artists. Although he is a freelancer, he has signed contracts with major global companies Warner Music (UK, Australia) and Universal Music Group (USA), and has worked for international music artists such as Jess Glyne and Perto, and merchandise for Trippie Redd.<br /> Notably, from 2019 to 2020, he worked on the first graphic campaign visual for the collaboration between NIKE Global (USA) and fashion brand SACAI (Japan), which attracted the attention of the scene. Provides artwork to ACRONYM (Germany & USA) also Perks And Mini (Australia) etc. In the same year, he held a solo exhibition and collaboration at Dogs, a concept store produced by Japanese artist KOHH.<br /> <br /> In 2021, he completely transitioned his art activities to a “Digital Artist” and has been presenting crypto artworks on Tezos and Ethereum overseas marketplaces (Teia, [Objkt.com](http://objkt.com/), Foundation, SuperRare, etc.). He explores a style that combines traditional painting techniques, such as original textures, brushstrokes, and color palettes, with expressions such as pixels and glitches unique to digital art. His style is diverse, such as "PSY," an abstract painting series featuring liquid animation, "FAXCE," a portrait series that makes full use of digital textures and brush strokes, and "BFK," a series that reconstructs internet memes based on the digital history. His unique works have been collected by XCOPY, a legend in the digital art world, and are attracting attention in the early NFT scene. He is a rare community builder on the Internet and is one of the few Japanese people who deeply understands the history and trends of the world's digital art through strong connections with top artists. He defines his style as "Uncharted Pixels," and as the name suggests, he continues to create digital art that doesn't exist on the map every day.

    Kosaku Namikawa

    Born in 2000, Namikawa loves the web and networks, as well as installation and construction, and video, audio, and lighting technology, and creates artworks utilizing media-related technologies. He is interested in networks, the boundaries of media, and the act of exhibition through his own productions and multifaceted involvement in the production of other artists' works.     Masayuki Akamatsu

    Masayuki Akamatsu is a media producer, born in Hyogo, Japan, in 1961. He received his Doctor of Arts at the Kyoto University of the Arts, Graduate School of Art. He is a Dean and a professor at Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences. Currently, he leads a research group, named "Critical Cycling". He has used technology to create interactive works of music and video that investigate the relation between the artwork and the audience, as well as the autonomy of the artwork itself. Recently, with the themes of mobility and reality in mind, Akamatsu's research investigates the influence of mobile devices on the individual and society. His characteristic works include: an exhibition, titled "Time Machine!"and "AR Art Museum", two mobile apps, "Banner" and "Decision Free". He also has published a variety of books, including "2061:Max Odyssey" and "iOS Textbook". Lastly, he has participated in the development of advanced information technology products, such as: "Sekai Camera" and "FUN’IKI Ambient Glasses".

    Michibumi Ito

    Through images and installations using VR, Ito presents situations where physical laws--such as scale, distance, time, perception--language systems, and ways of perceiving the world could have been originally different. Based on the research on religion and pathology, he compares the virtual images created by the VR media with the ‘body’ and ‘I’ or ‘we’ that could have existed differently in the media environment surrounded by today’s internet, devices, and thoughts on the ethics of life. At Retopology Engine Lecture (2021, TIME MACHINE), he presented a VR in which the body transforms on a hammock-like housing into earthworms, fish, or organisms without forms, showing the body before and after human. At XipeTotec Reality (2021, PARCO Shibuya), he studied the ancient Aztec festival of wearing peeled off human skin to imitate the god of corn (Aztec Flaying ceremony) to satirize the current virtual worlds where people still wear ‘skins’ as their avatars.

    Reva is an algorithmic artist, crypto artist, and computer graphics engineer, born in 1986 in China. She received her MA from the Institute of Computing Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has worked as an algorithm engineer in the movie-making, VR, and AR industries for 6 years. She self-taught generative art in 2018 and became a freelancer making new media arts. At the beginning of 2020 she stepped into the crypto art space and since then devoted herself to Web3 creating and building. She has established the Crypto Art Mutual Aid Association community and WeirDAO, a decentralized organization for independent crypto artists. Her generative project Through the Window was released on Art Blocks in 2021. She was the first Chinese mainland crypto artist to issue the artwork on Art Blocks. Her artworks have been auctioned in Poly and Yongle and showcased in Art Basel HK 2022.

    Shunsuke Takawo

    Shunsuke Takawo was born in 1981 in Kumamoto Prefecture. He received his M.F.A. from the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences in 2008. He is a member of Processing Community Japan and one of the Selection Members for the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival’s Art Division. He is also a college professor at the Department of Creative Media Studies at Konan Women’s University. In April 2022, he established the Japan Generative Art Foundation (JGAF) and became its representative director.
