We are pleased to present "Afterglows", a solo exhibition by Yosca Maeda (mae).
Statement
Fragments of memory drift endlessly within our hearts.
They are warm like light, quiet like shadows, and gently envelop us.
The works presented in this exhibition are born from my personal journey through the landscapes of my own heart.
Each particle of light represents a trace of dialogue, depicting the vivid brilliance of the inner landscapes I have seen.
Pixel art conveys both the clarity and abstraction of memory.
While memory itself is shapeless and invisible, it undeniably exists and flows continuously within our minds.
By expressing this sensation through the intangible realm of digital art, I aim to question what true existence means.
The title “Afterglow” refers to the lingering light of moments that have passed.
Happiness and emotion eventually fade into memory, sinking into the depths of our minds.
Yet, by keeping this afterglow alive in our hearts, we can discover hope amidst pain and loneliness,
and find the strength to support ourselves.
This exhibition invites you not only to connect with fragments of my memories,
but also to let the emotions within these works resonate with your heart.
I hope that they will serve as a guidepost for each of your individual journeys.
