NEORT++ presents "Patterns of Entanglement," an exhibition to conclude 2025. Moving beyond anthropocentrism to a space where digital and natural ecosystems intersect. Co-curated by Alex Estorick and Yusuke Shono, 10 artists present patterns of new relationships woven between humans, non-humans, and nature.
Exhibition Overview
In the Anthropocene, humans are inevitably compelled to understand their interconnection with non-human ecosystems. As organic matter and digital converge, and humans transform into carbon-silicon hybrids, artists provide clues to decipher this newly layered existence.
Through the concept of "media ecology," this exhibition frames the world as a site where ethical, ecological, social, and political processes are constantly regenerated, transformed, and transmitted. The participating artists exchange messages between artificial processes and living beings, between humans and non-humans, demonstrating pathways to reweave neoliberal "reality" into alternative ecologies.
"Patterns of Entanglement" is an attempt to decipher patterns of connectivity, interaction, and symbiosis across various scales—from individuals to ecosystems. From quantum entanglement to forest tokenization, through the unique literacies of 10 artists, the exhibition visualizes the ever-shifting entanglements between human and non-human relationships, exploring pathways to alternative realities beyond anthropocentrism without romanticizing technology or nature.
